Noah and The Whale- "The First Days of Spring"
These dudes just dropped a new album called The First Days of Spring. They also made an indie flick to go along with the album. Consider yourself informed...

An oldie, but a damn goodie.
Driving back from "Luhville" the other day and had the iPod on supper duper shuffle mode. Nevertheless, this song came on and I remembered how great it is....almost like hearing it for the first time again. Don't you love that...

New Record from Steve Earle- Townes
Steve Earle - "Poncho & Lefty" from KFOG Radio 104.5/97.7 on Vimeo.
The 15-song set is comprised of songs written by Earle's friend and mentor, the late singer-songwriter, Townes Van Zandt. The " Pancho & Lefty" cover is great, reminds me of hanging out with my grandpa. Only we listened to the Willie version. The song "Rake" seem to be getting a lot of play on the ipod as well.Monday, September 14, 2009
Monsters of Folk

Mike Mogis and Conor Oberst round out the group. When asked about the collaboration, Jim James replied with: “It was very peaceful and hilarious. No ego. No drama. Just a lot of song-trading and ideas floating around and good times. We worked hard on the songs and the ideas, but it never felt strenuous or rushed. There were several moments during the Malibu sessions where we would all be in the room recording all at once – on ‘Map of the World,’ for example, or ‘Losin Yo Head’ — and they were really magic. I think we all felt like we were in high school again, picking up new instruments for the first time and just losing ourselves to the moment and having fun.”
Does it get any better? My favorite so far has to be "The Sandman"...Roll down the windows, turn the volume way up, enjoi.
